  • Always design your structure for where you’re going in the next 1-2 years. Leverage historical data and trends to anticipate your future trajectory.

  • “Plus one” principle: While you grow into your intended structure, some leaders may need to carry an additional responsibility as a “plus one” for a season while you work to fill that position.

Questions to Ask

  • Are we operating in a structure that will fit the trajectory of our church a year from now?

  • Are we actively identifying and developing the leaders we will need to fill additional roles in 1-2 years?
